Hello, tokusatsu community! It’s Joshua Perry here to talk about SODO figures on my fortnightly series, SODO Sundays. Today info about Saber Book 9, Gaim’s next set, and SHODO-O 7!
- Kamen Rider Saber
Book 9 will be out this July and the first two figures for the set have been revealed. First up is the base version of Saber’s Final Form: Xross Saber! Being a space patterned repaint of his base form Brave Dragon, the figure version is basically just that figure again but with a lot of stickers. Due to the space/galaxy-like pattern, it was impossible for the team to paint on all that detail so stickers were chosen to be the best fit. This means almost no paint on the figure. Numerous trials to capture the look of the form were tried out, including making a translucent blue plastic version of Kamen Rider Espada as a test, which will not be an actual released figure.
Crimson Saber is next up, being a Xross Saber repaint of his Crimson Dragon form. This one though will include 2 of the 3 Seiken summoning modes of the Xross Saber as well.
- Kamen Rider Gaim
Now that the final retail SODO Chronicle Gaim set has been released it is now time for the next Premium Bandai release to appear. Based on 2020’s Gaim Gaiden: Gridon vs Bravo, this new exclusive set will include the four main Rider suits used in the special. The new forms of the titular Riders, Kamen Rider Bravo- King Durian Arms, and Kamen Rider Gridon- Lychee Arms are included. These forms are mostly repaints/slight remolds, with Bravo including a newly painted cape piece.
The other two figures will be Kamen Rider Zangetsu-Kachidoki Arms as well as the first figure ever for the new Kamen Rider Sylphi- Hells Arms.
This new set will release in October.
- SHODO-O 7
The next SHODO-O set to go alongside SHODO-X 11 and 12 will also release this October. This set will fill in some gaps from more recent SHODO releases. The first figure will be Kamen Rider Rogue in order to complete the main four Build Riders.
From Kamen Rider Ex-Aid the set will include Kamen Rider Cronus as well as a Ride Player.
Finally from Kamen Rider Blade is Kamen Rider Wild Chalice and both a Dark Roach and Albinoroach.
